The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando puts families inside London and the famed stories of Muggles and Wizards. Here’s a look at some of the experiences you can take part in at Diagon Alley:
1. Magical Wands
Step inside Ollivander’s to choose from a large selection of wands. With an interactive wand, cast spells, say a few magic words and create magic throughout the land. Be on the lookout for gold medallions along the walkways to bring the stories to life.
2. The Leaky Cauldron
Take a break and eat inside The Leaky Cauldron with pub grub favorites such as Bangers & Mash, Scotch eggs, fish and chips and of course, Butterbeer. Open for lunch and dinner, it’s a great spot to relive the magic of the Harry Potter series.
3. Escape from Gringotts
The showpiece of Diagon Alley is the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts ride, traveling alongside Harry Potter and friends as they break free from the bank and battle Voldemort and Bellatrix. Enter the bank and walk alongside the goblins as you make your way to the basement.
4. Shutterbutton’s
Create an interactive memento of your visit with the animated photos at Shutterbutton’s. Still pictures come to life and place you inside scenes from Diagon Alley. Check out the Universal Orlando blog for a look at how to make your own.
5. Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes
From love potions to chocolate frogs and novelty gags, this shop is a place of magic, wonder and fun. Located at the entrance to Diagon Alley, it’s a great spot to pick up a few souvenirs and experience the wonderment of Fred and George Weasley.
6. Hogwart’s Express
Climb aboard the Hogwart’s Express train at Kings Cross and make your way to Hogsmeade, located in the adjacent Islands of Adventure park. Once inside the train, it’s an incredible journey featuring scenes from the stories. (A park-to-park ticket is required to board the train.)
The experiences in Diagon Alley are incredible, something you can’t take part in anywhere but Universal Orlando Resort. It’s a ‘must see’ place for families and book lovers, too, so plan a visit for your family soon.
INSIDER TIP: Stay at one of the Universal Orlando Resort Hotels and enjoy early admission to Diagon Alley select mornings during your stay. It’s a great way to beat the crowds and make the most of your time at Universal Orlando.
