Boynton Beach
Situated on the Southeast Coast of Florida between West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, Boynton Beach draws visitors with its old-Florida charm, lively waterfront eateries, unique events, and plenty of family-friendly saltwater fun.
At the city’s Boynton Harbor Marina, visitors can find everything needed for a day of exploring the water, from boat and jet ski rentals and boat fuel to fishing and scuba charters. When it’s time to eat, the nearby restaurants are just a short walk from the marina. Water views, coastal cuisine, and live music can be found at Banana Boat and Two Georges, and Marina Café is a popular spot to stop for coffee, bagels, sandwiches, and other quick bites.
Visitors can choose from several excellent places to enjoy the local beaches and inviting ocean water, including Oceanfront Park, which offers a cabana service and beach wheelchairs, and Ocean Inlet Park, which has good spots for fishing and snorkeling as well as a canoe and kayak access. For land-based outdoor adventures, Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, located 12 miles inland, is one of the largest urban refuges in the country and offers guided tours, more than 50 miles of trails, and a wheelchair-friendly elevated boardwalk through the cypress swamp.
While in Boynton Beach, art lovers will want to check out the public art on display throughout the city, and Schoolhouse Children’s Museum is a must-see for families with children. Anyone looking for retail therapy can find it, along with additional dining and entertainment options, along walkable Ocean Avenue and at the Boynton Beach Mall on Congress Avenue. In October, Ocean Avenue is the place to see all-day entertainment during the Haunted Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash, which features live music, pirate reenactments, interactive mermaid tanks, and children’s activities.
