Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a small seaside town on Florida's east coast just north of Fort Lauderdale. Once you arrive and park in this coastal community of 6,000 residents, you can walk just about anywhere -- to the beach, to Anglin's Pier, or to the numerous shops and restaurants lining Anglin's Square, the town's quaint oceanfront district.

There's plenty to do: walk along the Town's Blue Wave beaches, take a ballroom dancing lesson, fish from the pier, go paddleboarding, or snorkel on a coral reef located within 100 yards of the beach. The town is Florida's Beach Diving Capital.

Anglin's Square in the town's vibrant downtown is transformed by live music on weekends as residents and visitors alike descend upon the oceanfront plaza to dance the night away.

If you'd rather just take it easy and stare at the ocean, just sit yourself down one of the boat benches under the beach pavilion. The town's official motto, after all, is "Relax... You're Here."

Unlike many surrounding cities, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea refused to allow tall condos along its beach and the community has maintained its Old Florida charm, reminiscent of Florida in the 1950s.
