See, feel

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea boasts 2.5 miles of beaches, which you can access from numerous parks and portals, each with its own allure. The sand is smooth and latte-colored, bordered by the blue ocean. It’s the Atlantic, so expect some waves, which will vary depending on tides, the wind, and offshore systems. Here’s a live webcam of the beach by Anglin’s Pier.

On or near the beach

Only 100 yards from the shore, an underwater wonder awaits: three living coral reefs, giving Lauderdale-by-the-Sea its nickname, “ Beach Diving Capital of Florida,” making it perfect for divers and snorkelers. Grabbing a drink or noshing on fresh seafood at Anglin’s Beach Café, nestled at the base of Anglin’s Fishing Pier, is a time-honored tradition that promises great ocean views. On the other side of the Pier, the  Aruba Beach Café welcomes visitors with tropical drinks, Caribbean fare, and live music and entertainment seven days a week.

Accessibility

El Prado Park offers a Mobi-mat, an extended nonslip, ADA accessible walkway from the park to the beach. The Mobi-mat can also provide a path for strollers or wagons filled with toys for a fun-filled beach playdate. Plus, it’s barefoot friendly, so you don’t have to worry about walking on hot sand.
