Located on Florida’s west coast, Tampa is known for its world-class fishing, Latin-flavored nightclubs, and family-friendly amusement parks -- but your vacation wouldn’t be complete without a round at one of these three golf courses.
Innisbrook Resort, Copperhead Course
Palm Harbor, $140-$240
The Copperhead Course is one of the longest courses in Florida, reaching 7,340 yards from the tips. Home of the PGA’s Valspar Championship each year, the last few holes are called “The Snake Pit” and are so difficult that even the professionals start to sweat.
World Woods, Pine Barrens Course
Brooksville, $50-$140
If you’re looking for pure nature, you’ve found it at The Pines Barrens Course. Designed by Tom Fazio, this track features gigantic pines and sand dunes. It may not be the longest course at 6,902 yards, but certain holes will need close attention to escape with par.
TPC Tampa Bay
Lutz, $73-$153
You might want to bring a fishing pole with you on this course because water comes into play on 15 of the 18 holes. Florida is notorious for its flat land, but uneven lies are common at TPC Tampa Bay. Designed by Bobby Weed and Chi Chi Rodriguez, TPC is home is a Champions Tour event every year.
