Hammock Beach Resort brings to mind the smell of the ocean, and its sound, a constant lullaby in the background. Here’s what else you can expect if you visit the Resort, located along the Atlantic in Palm Coast.

You can expect to be greeted with a big smile. It never hurts to have a great staff, happy to accommodate your every whim.

The rooms are comfy and attractive. There’s room to stretch out, extra pillows on the bed, and it’s deliciously quiet.

The views aren't bad, either. Our room overlooked the Atlantic Ocean and the golf course, but really, no matter where you stay at the resort, you can’t go wrong.

And your whole gang will love it. In fact, the resort was named Number Five in the entire nation in 2014 Travel & Leisure's `Worlds Best Awards' List, America's Best Family Hotels.

Every inch of the property is easy on the eyes.

For golfers, the links are legendary. The resort boasts two Championship Golf Courses, designed by Nicklaus and Watson, that have hosted PGA Tour events. These courses have earned some of the highest rankings in the state by Golf Magazine, Golf Week and Golf Digest, and they're among the most beautiful, too. Picture endless acres of vibrant greens, fringed by dunes that roll toward the Atlantic, and you'll have it about right.

And then there's this -- miles of unspoiled beach, which you’ll have practically all to yourself.

Check out the cinnamon-colored sand. It gets its beautiful, rich hue from coquina shells.

It doesn't get much better.

You can indulge in some grown-up time at the Atlantic Grille. This eatery, the only oceanfront restaurant in all of Palm Coast, overlooks the surf, and the food is fabulous.

Make sure to have a tuna martini while you're there!
