When you’re driving through or flying above the Everglades, it appears so empty that it’s hard to accept that the area is teeming with life. But it is, and it is diverse and magnificent.

So if you have a minute, take a look at a fascinating time-lapse video put together by some VISIT FLORIDA videographers. They captured random scenes from across the Everglades that shows how a typical day unfolds in just a sliver of this vast and mysterious place.

Seeing the Everglades like this will make you proud to be a Floridian, and will make anyone appreciate the need to protect this fabled River of Grass.
