Looking for a little adventure on your next trip to the Treasure Coast? For a real-deal look at this unique section of the Sunshine State, head to Fort Pierce where you can enjoy trips of all types – kayak, diving, heritage – you name it.
I'm a big fan of where people can get a real Florida experience, and that's exactly what you'll get in the Fort Pierce area.. You'd be hard pressed to choose just one type of trip, because they all kind of go hand in hand to paint a picture of what the area is all about. Think about it: one day you can see the Treasure Coast on a kayak trip, and the following day you can tour a historic citrus packinghouse or take go diving.
How about an eco-safari? Yep, that's another cool trip that you'll want to take. Head to Florida Ranch Adventures for all sorts of cool stuff like tours of a working cattle ranch, an eco safari and guided horseback rides. Not a bad way to spend a few days, if you ask me.
Water lovers, there are several old Spanish shipwrecks and reefs to dive. At Fort Pierce Inlet State Park, there's a great reef that's perfect for both diving and snorkeling. If surfing is your thing, bring your board. Fort Pierce Inlet State Park is one of the best places in the state to catch a wave.
Heritage and culture fans will enjoy visiting places like the A.E. Backus Gallery and Museum, which showcases the works of legendary Florida artist Albert Backus. Over at the Sunrise Theatre, visitors can catch live touring Broadway performances, jazz and blues shows, ballet and comedy acts.
A good resource for finding trips in the Fort Pierce area is www.fortpierceauthentictours.com. Check it out, and plan out a trip to see this section of the state soon. Have fun!
