You should know about the superb shelling and beautiful beach on Manasota Key – in the Charlotte Harbor area, close to Englewood Beach -- known as Blind Pass Park.
Pay extra attention as you slow for the sharp corner in the road, or you’ll miss it entirely.
The natural beach provides a haven for nesting sea turtles, and it’s quiet except for the music of the surf and the wind and sometimes a few people laughing or talking. The waves wash up shells and sand dollars and shark’s teeth in mounds along its soft sands, and its waters are clear and emerald-tinted like most of the beaches along the Gulf.
Check out this local secret and a couple of expert shellers dishing about it in this video I shot. Also, don't forget to check VISIT FLORIDA's official travelers guide for this and other travel ideas in the Sunshine State.
