Charming and quaint, Dunedin is a historic, small town with a big-city mindset on the West Coast of Florida.

The town of 35,000 outside of St. Petersburg has a hip little downtown, Scottish heritage and a gay nightlife destination that draws crowds.

The gay-friendly Dunedin complex at 319-325 Main St. features the fun trifecta of Kelly’s Restaurant, the Chic-a-Boom Room and Blur nightclub.

Kelly’s Dunedin

The easygoing, 25-year-old diner features a popular breakfast menu, burgers and other lunch specials, and dinner options like super-lump crab cake and spicy lime-grilled shrimp, attracting an eclectic mix of locals and tourists, gays and straights, women and men.

With an extensive selection of cheeky martinis (Miso Horny, Too Drunk to Walka), over 150 bottles of wine and more than 85 globe-spanning beers, including eight rotating seasonal craft beers on tap, the festive cocktail bar shares Kelly’s outdoor patio. You can also dine from the full restaurant menu here.

Blur Dance Club

Live music shows, DJs on weekends, karaoke nights, line dancing and the popular “Bingo with Traila Parks” makes this a popular LGBTQ hangout.
