See, feel

The ride out to Keewaydin is half the fun, an expedition usually accompanied by dolphins and laughter. And when you arrive, it gets even better. Private boats anchored in the shallows of gin-clear, emerald-tinted water; shells like olives, conchs and whelks washed into piles atop the light brown sand; and a backdrop of waving sea oats and beach morning glories give Keewaydin Island a dreamy feel. The beach is natural, with the bleached skeletons of driftwood curving out of the sand in some spots.

Consider beach shoes and something for shade. The water is normally calm, but winds, tides and offshore systems can occasionally cause rough conditions.
