INDIAN ROCKS BEACH
Where
Indian Rocks Beach boasts a staggering 27 public beach accesses and parks, including Pinellas County 18th Avenue Park, a favorite that’s located at 1700 Gulf Blvd, Indian Rocks Beach, FL 33785.
Vibe
Chilled out, popular escape with family-friendly amenities and inviting waters.
Here, expect to see pelicans fishing, kids digging in the sand and sun-worshippers soaking up the rays. The mood is relaxed, not party hearty, but there’s plenty of laughter to go around.
See, feel
This tidy park, replete with palms and shaded benches, welcomes visitors with perks like restrooms and showers. But the star of the show here is the beach, resplendent with soft white sand, fringed with tranquil blue-green waters, and frequented by abundant dolphins. It can be crowded during high season, but you can head to one of the other area beach accesses for a more private stretch of shoreline.
While the surf is usually minimal, tides, winds and offshore systems can occasionally cause rough conditions.
On or near the beach
Cast a line into the surf to fish for Drum, Snook and Sharks; search the shorelines for Olive, Florida Spiny Jewel Box and Cerith shells; or just kick back and let the salt air work its magic.
Fuel the fun with a picnic on the beach. Or head just across the street to Guppy’s, a mellow hangout serving up eclectic, upscale seafood dishes and small plates.
For the ultimate casual date, grab a decadent to-go pizza from Chicago Jaqx, about a block away from 18th Avenue Park, and eat it on the beach with your beloved as the sun goes down over the Gulf of Mexico.
Accessibility
Accessible features at the park include free ADA parking as well as four handicap accessible boardwalks that lead to the beach.

18th Avenue boasts a concrete paved rest-area complete with benches and picnic tables; showers and restrooms; four handicap accessible boardwalks that lead to the beach; a drinking fountain; bicycle racks; and trash and cigarette receptacles. You can rent beach umbrellas and chairs at the beach access.
Lifeguards
