HALLANDALE BEACH
Where
Hallandale Beach is home to North City Beach Park, and South City Beach Park, sited at 1870 S Ocean Dr., Hallandale Beach, FL 33009. Here’s information on all public Hallandale Beach accesses.
Vibe
Low key, welcoming urban oasis. In this modern, well-kept park, you’ll often see an eclectic mix of men playing a spirited game of bocce; parents with giggling tots in the playground; and people strolling by the surf. South City Beach Park is the ultimate in convenience, with restrooms, showers and a full-service concession, making it ideal for families.
See, feel
Tucked between the cityscape and thick with palms, South Beach City Park invites you into a relaxed escape complete with generous parking, an accessible beach, and Café Cita, acclaimed as a hidden gem that plays Sinatra type music and an owner that makes everyone feel special. The beach is narrow, making it easy to access the Atlantic, and laden with sand the color of creamy hot chocolate. The ocean changes hue depending on its mood, ranging from the deepest blue to a dreamy turquoise. Expect some waves, which will vary depending on the tides, winds, and offshore systems.
On or near the beach
Here, you can soak up the sun; swim; challenge your buddies to a game of sand volleyball; let the little ones burn off steam in the playground; or picnic in a shaded pavilion. To start the day off right, grab a gourmet coffee at Café Cita and watch the sun come up over the waves-- epic.
Accessibility
The beach is ADA accessible, and free-to-use beach wheelchairs are available at Towers 1 and 2 between 9:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. These specially designed chairs can be used over flat surfaces, sand and even be taken into shallow water.
