Vibe

Kicked back and convenient, beautiful Peters Point is popular but not over-crowded. You’re likely to see surf fishermen, groups of horseback riders along the shoreline, and folks walking their dogs by the water. Here’s information from AmeliaIslandLiving.com about more area beaches.

See, feel

Wooden beach walkovers span the impressive, sprawling dunes, leading to a wide beach. The latte-hued sand is the consistency of sugar crystals, and mainly hard-packed near the water, making it ideal for a morning run or leisurely afternoon stroll. The north side of the park is bordered by a residential area. The south side is bordered by condos. Expect some surf, which will vary depending on tides, the wind, and offshore systems.

On or near the beach

Playing in the waves, surf fishing and ocean swimming are all ways to enjoy a saltwater baptism. For an epic adventure, try a horseback ride on the beach.

Accessibility

While in most cases beach driving and parking in the sand are reserved for Nassau County residents, military members and the disabled are exceptions. Here’s where you can find details. A driver’s license and refundable deposit are required, paid via major credit card. Here’s parking information and beach accesses for other area beaches, including ADA accessibility.
