I had the pleasure of visiting the quaint community of Winter Garden for dinner and a show. When my husband and I arrived, I couldn't help but think this little town looked like a movie set with its brick streets and historic charm. We were there to see a documentary screening at the famous Garden Theatre. Originally built in 1935, this was the first theatre in Central Florida to show "talkies" and was a place were locals gathered to watch the latest news reels and films of the time. Today, it's been completely restored while also keeping its vintage feel. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back to see another show!
Before the movie, we walked through the main street area to find a place to eat. There are countless choices of outdoor cafes and eateries including a French bakery, Moon Cricket Grill and the award-winning Thai Blossom Restaurant. We ended up settling into a couple of seats next to an old Coca-Cola sign and antique gas pump where some fantastic southern BBQ sandwiches were being served through a walk-up window at Harry & Larry's BBQ. It was the perfect place to complete our vintage-themed evening!
