    Travel is a way of life for military families. And whether your gang is moving or going on vacation, discounted airline flights can help to keep your bank account healthy. Read on to discover Florida flight deals for the military.

    Space Out

    Space A is a great option for the flexible flier. Space-A is short for "Space-Available air transportation on government owned or controlled aircraft." When mission and cargo loads allow, seats are available to eligible passengers. With an adjustable schedule and a laid-back attitude, you can travel all over the world for almost nothing—keeping in mind flights often change and seats are sometimes not available.     Airfare Discounts

    Delta

    Military personnel can enjoy special rates with Delta Air Lines, a company with a long history of offering deals for service members. Family members traveling to meet an active duty service member can snag discounts as well. Call their reservations team and ask for the military desk.

    JetBlue

    JetBlue's MIL fare allows active duty service personnel and their immediate family to fly on JetBlue; call 1-800-JETBLUE for details.

    Southwest

    Active military personnel and their families can access military discounts through Southwest. Contact Southwest directly for more information.

    Norfolk International Airport

    Norfolk International Airport salutes military travelers and their dependents with discounts on the airlines servicing it. Call the airlines directly for information about schedules and fares and to make reservations.

    Baggage

    Alaska Airlines

    Up to five free checked bags! Alaska Airlines honors active duty military with this move-worthy perk. This discount also applies to military dependents on travel orders.

    Allegiant Airlines

    Allegiant offers active duty military, Reservists and National Guard up to three pieces of checked baggage under 100 pounds for free-- and there’s no charge for oversized checked baggage. Veterans and dependents of active duty or Reserve military, and National Guard get up to three pieces of checked baggage under 40 pounds for free.

    American Airlines

    American Airlines promises active duty military personnel traveling on orders five complimentary bags up to 100 pounds each. Traveling for pleasure? You can check up to three complimentary bags up to 50 pounds each. Military dependents traveling on orders have the same privileges as military personnel.

    Delta

    Delta comes through again; active duty military personnel traveling on orders may check up to five bags up to 100 pounds. For personal travel, active military may also check up to three bags in First class up to 70 pounds and two bags in Basic Economy up to 50 pounds. 

    JetBlue

    Active military personnel and their dependents traveling on military orders are allowed to check five bags each at no additional cost; active military personnel and their dependents traveling for pleasure are allowed to check two bags each at no additional cost.
