Tour the Swamp at the Big Cypress Gallery
By Kevin Mims
Renowned photographer Clyde Butcher’s Big Cypress gallery is a unique place, and a must-see for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
The best time to experience this Florida landmark is during a Swamp Walk tour, when visitors get to immerse themselves — literally — in Clyde Butcher’s world and see the swamps, plants and wildlife that have been the subjects of his black-and-white masterpieces for years.
From October through March, Swamp Walks take place every Saturday. They last about 90 minutes, and the cost is $50 for adults and $25 for children. Reservations are required.
