Fort Pierce is the doorway to 21 miles of unspoiled beaches where you can relax, play and even ride horseback on the beach. We are known for great sport fishing, surfing, and diving. And within a short distance you will find challenging golf courses, renowned sport fishing, great surfing, charming historical structures, magnificent museums, Mets Baseball, theatre, fabulous restaurants and great shopping. We are an eco-haven where you can enjoy hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding located in eleven thousand acres of key environmental preserves. You can bring your own or rent a canoe or kayak to paddle through our rivers, creeks, streams and estuaries to watch local wildlife and birds. Or ride one of the local guided tour boats.

While here you will want to visit the National Navy UDT-Seal Museum, the A.E. Backus Gallery, the Manatee Center, the St. Lucie County Regional History Center, the St.Lucie County Marine Center featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit . You will also want to spend some time enjoying one of the many festivals held through out the year.

The Saturday morning Downtown Fort Pierce Farmers Market draws people from the four county area and beyond. Open every Saturday year-around 8 AM to 12 noon. You can enjoy breakfast sitting on the seawall of the majestic Indian River Lagoon and purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, plants, organic goods and so much more.
