7 Great Places to Sip Wine in Orlando
By Rachelle Lucas
Did you know that Orlando made Wine Enthusiast's list of 10 Best Wine Travel Destinations of 2015? How exciting is that?
While we don't have rolling hills full of vineyards, we do have lots of fabulous restaurants that have curated amazing wine lists. If you love wine and want to taste some the best in the world, here are some of my additional favorites.
1. The Wine Room
What makes The Wine Room so fun is that they have multiple wine-dispensing machines throughout the restaurant featuring more than 156 bottles of wine that you can taste by choosing a 1-oz., 2.5-oz., or full 5-oz. pour.
2. Seasons 52
You can visit Seasons 52's very first location on Sandlake Road and taste one of their specialty curated wines by Master Sommelier, George Miliotes. George has a wine list he calls, "Drink Them Before They're Famous" that always has a few fun surprises.
If you're a fan of Super Tuscans, you've got to check out the wine list at Prato and pair a glass with one of their rustic Italian dishes, all house-made from scratch using fresh ingredients sourced locally and specialty items directly from Italy.
4. Quantum Leap Winery
This Orlando winery curates juice from some of the top grape-growing regions around the world and brings it here to their winery in Florida where they produce wine. You can visit their tasting room and even hold private events in their chill winery surrounded by stacks of oak barrels aging their next vintage.
5. Vines Grill
Vines Grill is constantly ranked by Open Table as having one of the Top 100 Wine Lists in the USA. They also have fabulous steaks and live jazz music on a nightly basis, so there's plenty of reasons to add them to your must-dine list when visiting Orlando.
6. K Wine Bar
K Wine Bar sources all their ingredients locally for their dining menu, and from all over the world for their wine menu. You'll find a great variety from some of the best wine regions around the world, from California Cabs, to South African Sauvignon Blanc, Argentinian Malbec, and France's famous Bordeaux.
7. Cooper's Hawk
Each dish at Cooper's Hawk is created with their winery in mind, making some pretty perfect pairings. Plus, the ambiance here transports you right into wine country with their oak barrels and tasting room. I especially appreciate that you can order most of their wine by the glass and the tasting notes listed help wine novices pick out something they'll love.
