Hi Bill, You'll LOVE Sarasota's beaches! Their visitor's services site doesn't have an easy list to send, but if you'll call them or email them (800-800-3906 info@sarasotafl.org ) the can give you the info you need. Lauren Tjaden VISIT FLORIDA Beaches and Adventure Insider

Hi Celia, Sorry for the trouble you're having! It's so frustrating when you can't get the info you want. Here's a link to the Venice Chamber's Brohard Park, which has handicap accessible boardwalks, etc: http://www.venicegov.com/Park_links/brohard.htm The website has a big list of beaches you can click on to find which will suit you (and have the facilities you need). If you don't want to go through the whole list I'd recommend you call them (the number is on the website). I was going to call them for you but it's too late and they were closed. I hope you come and enjoy Florida. Lauren Tjaden VISIT FLORIDA Beaches and Adventure Insider

Hi Bruce, Sounds fun! Here's a link to hotels in Destin. Look for the 'ADA' symbol to find suitable rooms: http://www.emeraldcoastfl.com/accommodations/destin-hotels-motels/. For a specific suggestion, Destin on the Beach (1020 HWY 98 EAST P.O. BOX 577 DESTIN, FLORIDA 32541, 850-837-6181) is beachfront and has 10 accessible rooms. I'm happy to call the visitor's services on Monday - or you can, at 850-651-7131, to see what they recommend. Lauren Tjaden VISIT FLORIDA Beaches and Adventure Insider

Really surprised how far behind florida is providing basic disabled beach access. Vanderbilt beach without wooden planks or sand wheelchair. Standard way behind European locations such as canary and costa del sol.

I would like some contact information in regards to free Beach Wheel Chair rentals. I am renewing my vows on Fort Myers beach, and our best man's sister will not be able to join in the festivities if we cannot locate one of these chairs. She does have a handicap placard, her wheel chair just will not work on the beach.
