4 Places to Watch Wild Manatees Streaming Live in Florida
Seriously, I kind of obsess about those big 'ol sea cows and what they are up to.
If you're the same way, then you might want to check out the following webcams where you can take your obsession to the next level.
- Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center - TECO has two cams set up for viewing manatees. Links: MVC Cam East (http://www.tampaelectric.com/company/mvc/webcameast/) and MVC Cam West (http://www.tampaelectric.com/company/mvc/webcamwest/)
- Florida Power and Light Riviera Beach - http://www.fpl.com/environment/plant/riviera_stream.shtml - Also, don't forget to check out the FPL Manatee Overview page for some general manatee protection information.
- Manatee Cam at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park - Most of the time you'll see the park's resident manatees, but when the weather is cold the access gate into the springs is lifted so that wild manatees can come in and get warm. http://www.manateecam.org/
- Save the Manatee Club Cam at Blue Spring State Park - This one's my favorite. There are always lots of manatees at Blue Spring when it's cold, plus the Save the Manatee Club posts plenty of cool stats to go along with the feed. http://www.savethemanatee.org/savethemanateecam.html
