Ybor City in Tampa plays an important role in Florida’s history. Vicente Martinez Ybor moved his cigar-making company to Tampa, where he employed people from Spain, Cuba and Italy. He built houses for his workers in the hopes of giving them a piece of the American dream. The neighborhood is designated as a National Historic Landmark District. "Ybor City Architecture: Our Stories" is on exhibit through October at the Ybor City Museum State Park. Take a look at the rich history of Ybor City through its architecture. When you’re done, make sure to stop by The Columbia, another historic landmark, and order their original cuban sandwich. For more information, visit www.ybormuseum.org.
