Of 11 of the best towns to visit in Florida, Buzzfeed ranks Sanibel #1.
The article listing the best towns in Florida to visit noted Sanibel’s secluded and untouched beauty. It also cited some of the southwest Florida island’s best attributes, such as the fact you won’t find many buildings taller than a palm tree, and that the town is devoid of fast food restaurants, which were banned, and devoid of stoplights as well.
The article pointed out one of my fav places to stay, the perfectly situated Casa Ybel, which is nestled smack-dab on the Gulf of Mexico. It also mentioned the yummy fare at the The Mad Hatter restaurant and noted the Island’s shelling as a must-do activity.
I’d add that another Island must-do is a visit to Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, which is famed for its migratory bird populations.
And you haven’t lived until you’ve tried the frozen Key Lime Pie dipped in chocolate on a stick, which you can get at Sand Castle Gifts & Gourmet (2075 Periwinkle Way # 20, Sanibel, FL 33957, phone: 239- 472-2201). If you’re going to sin with chocolate, you might as well go big!
But I think you should check out why Sanibel made the list of best towns in Florida to visit for yourself.
The other 10 best towns in Florida to visit include:
