The National Weather Service tweeted that today there’s a 115 degree temperature difference between Key West, Fla., and Great Falls, Minn. This goes a long way toward explaining why so many folks migrate to the Sunshine State in winter.
The question is which is the best beach town in Florida.
To help snowbirds decide which are the best Florida beach towns to visit, USA Today asked “Dr. Beach”— aka Florida International University professor Stephen P. Leatherman – which 10 destinations boast the perfect combination of sand, surf and community.
To no one’s great surprise, the famed coastal expert included Sanibel Island among his picks for best Florida beach towns, citing its stellar shelling. He also noted the Island has no stoplights and strict building codes that limit new structures to two stories.
