Sure Florida has a lot of cookie cutter construction, but we also have a wonderful range of historic hotels (stroll along Ocean Drive in South Beach and you’ll see what I mean).

Not every one of these is “off the beaten path” (in fact, few of them are), but those below are living examples of Florida style and class.

The Biltmore (Coral Gables)

Colony Hotel (Delray Beach)

The Breakers (Palm Beach)

Gasparilla Inn (Boca Grande)

Casa Monica (St. Augustine)

Don CeSar (St. Pete Beach)

Fontainebleau (Miami Beach)

Eden Roc (Miami Beach)

Renaissance Vinoy (St. Pete)

Wakulla Lodge (Wakulla Springs)

Did I miss any?
