Florida Adventures for People with Disabilities
By Jodi Mailander Farrell
People with disabilities can locate accessible resources and programs for outdoor adventures in Florida through the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association.
The nonprofit, created to enrich lives through accessible inclusive recreation for all, is the go-to information source for Florida outdoor opportunities, such as a mobility impaired hunting program, a therapeutic recreation program for people with brain and spinal cord injuries, and a SportsAbility annual event with multiple activities like water skiing, martial arts and more.
Heading to Florida and want to check out the options? Check in with the organization’s online recreation resource database, which is searchable by county and type of activity, from camping and bicycling to jet skiing and kayaking.
