Most golfers hear the phrase "all-inclusive family resort" and yawn. They think: kids' games, foreign shores and no golf.

Actually, they aren't far from the truth. If you've ever been to one of Club Med's all-inclusive properties, you've probably been in the Caribbean and you probably didn't see much golf.

But, there is one all-inclusive, Club Med family resort with a golf program here in the U.S. - Sandpiper Bay, located in Port St. Lucie.

Not only does Sandpiper Bay have an 18-hole golf course, it also has a Tom Fazio-designed practice facility that includes a putting green, driving range and nine-hole pitch-and-put course. They also have a new pro shop and a 12,000 square foot clubhouse.

If you can get the wife and kids away from all the other attractions, the resort's golf academy offers individual and group lessons. Get them hooked early.

The resort re-opened this month after a $25 million renovation. And of course there are all the other activities for the rest of the non-golfing family, like tennis, water sports and all the other stuff Club Meds are famous for.

The resort is offering grand opening rates of $159 per person per night, which must be booked by Jan. 31. For more information, call 800-CLUB MED.
