Shot-Makers Will Love Cimarrone Golf Club
By Tim McDonald
Cimarrone Golf Club is a good example. It's got good length – 6,891 yards from the championship tees down to 5,514 from the forward tees – and challenge, without kicking you in the pants.
It's a shot-makers layout, with water on just about every hole. Don't be scared off; most of the water is out of reach to the sides, though you can get wet if you're having a bad relationship with your driver.
There are only a few water carries off the tee, but the narrow fairways and interesting angles into the greens force you to focus throughout the round. Cimarrone really picks up steam around the green complexes, where it dips and dives and severely tests your short game.
It's a very fun course to play if you can keep it in the fairway, hit crisp irons and keep your short game under control. That's not too much to ask, is it?
