Experience Wet, Wacky & Wild Weekends at Jungle Island
By Carrie McLaren
Make a splash this summer at Miami’s Jungle Island with their special Wet, Wacky & Wild Weekends celebration.
Pack your swimsuit because, in addition to seeing the wild animals at Jungle Island, you'll want to visit Parrot Bay, the park’s own private beach. That's where you’ll also find Rainforest Riptide, a water playground featuring water-based obstacles such as balance beams, trampolines, a high jump and a swing.
Don’t miss trying out the adjacent climbing wall, too, where you can challenge your family to a test of strength and endurance.
Spend time wading in Biscayne Bay then lounge on a beach chair and soak up the sun while the kids play in Rainforest Riptide.
After Parrot Cove and Rainforest Riptide, stop in for more fun at one of Jungle Island’s wacky animal shows -- Winged Wonders, Wild Encounters and Wild Adventures.
And, of course, you'll need to visit the twin orangutans, Australian red kangaroos, big cats, reptiles and colorful parrots.
Admission to Rainforest Riptide is an additional $15 per person and $10 for annual pass holders. Make plans now because Rainforest Riptide is available only through Aug. 30. Park hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with Rainforest Riptide opening at 11 a.m.
Insider Tip: Save money with the South Florida Adventure Pass. You’ll get admission to seven different attractions, including museums, gardens and outdoor adventures, for the price of one.
