All Aboard the Hogwarts Express

    By Carrie McLaren

We're getting closer and closer to the opening of Diagon Alley as part of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. During my recent visit, I could see the construction taking place and it looks like it won’t be too much longer.

This past week, more details were released about the Hogwarts Express experience and how it connects this new land at Universal Studios Florida to Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure and it sounds incredible.

As you board the Hogwarts Express, you’ll be able to look out the window and see adventures unfold.

Everything about the train is authentic -- from the paint and the materials used to build it, all the way down to the whistle. The Hogwarts Express experience combines powerful storytelling, live special effects, lifelike animation and state-of-the-art technology to take riders on the journey of a lifetime.

Park-to-park admission is required to experience the Hogwarts Express journey and it’s sure to be an experience unique to the parks and shouldn’t disappoint fans of the Harry Potter series.

Depending on which direction you are traveling, you’ll have a completely different experience. Witness Hagrid alongside the train on his flying motorbike, Buckbeak the Hippogriff swoop over Black Lake and see the Weasley twins on brooms. Other surprises take place throughout the journey, too. With state-of-the-art technology and an authentic story, riders will be a part of the Harry Potter legacy.

The opening date of Diagon Alley hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be sometime summer 2014. As soon as I know, I’ll be sure and share the news with you!
