Barberville Pioneer Settlement
Discover Yesterday Today! The premier living history destination in Central Florida.
The Barberville Pioneer Settlement was founded in 1976 and is a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization registered with the State of Florida.
You are going to love a visit to our 30 acre campus with 18 historical structures and over 10,000 historical artifacts.
The centerpiece of our campus is the original Barberville Central High School (c 1919), a National Register of Historic Places site. Many historical buildings and artifacts that may otherwise have been destroyed have been relocated to our grounds. Some are reproductions of 1900's-era buildings, which house particular collections. We are also the original home of Volusia County's oldest two story brick residence, the Joseph Underhill House (c 1879) which we just completed phase one in the house's massive restoration process.
Our festivals, special events, and school field trips feature living history demonstrations of the pioneer way of life in Florida.
The Barberville Pioneer Settlement's mission is to educate and entrust the public and future generations with knowledge of the Pioneer lifestyle of our forefathers, through hands on experience, folk life demonstrations, preservation and historical exhibits.
