St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum
Step up & discover history! America’s history will never look the same after a visit to the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. Climb 219 steps to the top of the tower and uncover 145 years of history. At the top, you’ll be treated to incredible views of historic St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else in the world!
Guests also can view exhibits which include shipwreck artifacts in WRECKED! and learn about how lighthouse keepers lived in the 1876 Keepers' House. See how artifacts are preserved and watch working conservators in the Conservation Lab.
Coast Guard artwork is on display in the World War II US Coast Guard Coastal Lookout Building. The Tin Pickle cafe is located in the US Coast Guard Jeep Garage.
Hands-on history for children includes a shipyard playground, nature trails with scavenger hunt, iPads showing how shipwrecks are found, a climb-in small wooden lighthouse with puppets, Etch-a-sketch area and View Finders.
