Friends of Rookery Bay

Friends of Rookery Bay connects people with the 110,000-acre Rookery Bay Research Reserve, which stretches from Keewaydin Island through the Western Everglades and encompasses 40 percent of Collier County's coastline. Guided small boat and kayak tours are offered throughout the shallow Rookery Bay waters and mangrove tunnels to islands only accessible by boat to see wildlife such as dolphins, manatees and more than 150 species of birds. Tours are led by the Friends of Rookery Bay's eco-tour provider, which was voted "Best Kayaking Tour" by USA Today's 10Best 2020 Awards. When the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center reopens, Friends of Rookery Bay hosts events, lectures and art exhibits among the aquariums, touch tank, walking trails and natural history exhibits.
