Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a small beachfront town on Florida's east coast, just north of Fort Lauderdale. Once you arrive in this coastal community of 6,000 residents, you can leave the car parked because it's a short stroll to anywhere in Town: the beach, Anglin's Pier, the numerous shops and restaurants lining Commercial Blvd from Anglin's Square, the town's quaint oceanfront district, to the Intracoastal. The Town’s low-rise hotels– many of which are literally on the sand – are perfect for vacationing with family and friends, while maintaining a safe distance from others. Different from other hotels in South Florida, most hotels in Lauderdale-By-the-Sea are four stories or less with outside walkways to access rooms, so lobby and elevator interactions can be limited. Many of our beachside hotels feature outdoor or covered lobbies and waiting areas, making it easy to catch the fresh ocean air while checking in or booking a snorkeling or diving excursion with the front desk staff. Additionally, many feature poolside barbeque grills and in-room kitchenettes, and almost all are walking distance from local grocery stores, making it easy to relax in the clean comfort of your hotel. There's plenty to do in Town: stroll along Commercial Blvd, enjoy dining outdoors at one of the reopened restaurants, or pop into one of the retail stores to shop for home goods, jewelry, gifts, art, and more. Unlike many surrounding cities, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea does not allow tall buildings along its beach and in town, thus the community has maintained its Old Florida charm, reminiscent of Florida in the 1950s. Enjoy the ocean breeze and Florida sun by taking in all the little beach town has to offer. The Town's official motto, after all, is, "Relax...You're Here."
