Sopchoppy River Paddling Trail
This reddish-brown river, fed by wild swamps, twists around cypress knees and impressive knots of roots through the Apalachicola National Forest. Numerous sandbars make for scenic rest stops. Deer can often be seen along the shore or swimming across the river. At low water levels, some pullovers and wading may be required. Due to its scenic attributes, the Sopchoppy is one of Florida's state designated paddling trails.
