The Immerse Yourself presentations have been held at the Museum since it first opened in 2005. Each year a variety of speakers from various backgrounds, discuss their specialties.

An example of some of our recent presenters includes Museum member, author, and adventurer John Christopher Fine. He spoke in February about a WWII B-17 that went down off the coast of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea. After finding an airmen’s dog-tag, he was able to research and locate surviving crew members to hold a collaborative 50 year anniversary in Malta. The Museum’s March speaker was Sara Ayers-Rigsby, director of the Southeast & Southwest Florida Public Archaeology Network, in celebration of Archaeology Month and submerged resources.

April will feature will be the dynamic duo Carlos and Allison Estape. They work throughout the Keys and Caribbean to promote citizen science. This can be through fish surveys, sea turtle monitoring, marine debris clean-ups and more! Carlos and Allyson will be telling guests how they can get involved with citizen science projects throughout the Keys.
