MyFWCvia Facebook With the rebound of the Florida black bear population from about 300 in the 1970s to more than 3,000 today, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is reminding the public about the opportunity to review and comment on the revised draft Black Bear Management Plan. The deadline for public input online is Friday, June 1. The Black Bear Management Plan is designed to guide conservation of Florida’s largest terrestrial mammal over the next 10 years. The FWC’s Commissioners will be taking up the plan at their June 27-28 meeting in West Palm Beach.
