East Coast Greenway

The East Coast Greenway is a multi-use pathway for traffic-free travel connecting major cities along the eastern seaboard between Canada and Key West. The East Coast Greenway Alliance (ECGA) mobilizes resources to link existing trails and develops new trails to fill the gaps to form this "Urban Appalachian Trail." Florida boasts the longest portion of Greenway with the most miles of completed trail. Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail

Beginning at Big Lagoon State Park near Pensacola, extending around the Florida peninsula and Keys, and ending at Fort Clinch State Park near the Georgia border, the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail (commonly referred to as The CT) is a 1,515-mile sea kayaking paradise. The trail includes every Florida coastal habitat type, from barrier island dune systems to salt marsh to mangroves. Florida National Scenic Trail

Florida is a land of natural wonders. From the world's only Everglades to the sparkling white quartz dunes of Northwest Florida, the Sunshine State hosts an incredible diversity of habitats. Blountstown Greenway

Designated as part of Florida’s statewide system of Greenways and Trails, the 5-mile Blountstown Greenway Bike Trail is constructed along the historic Marianna & Blountstown (M&B) Railroad which operated from 1909 to 1972. The Florida Trail shares the Blue Blazed portion of this Trail. Trail visitors may enjoy the playground and fitness stations located along the Trail. Blountstown is designated as a Main Street Community and as a Florida Trail Gateway Community.

Bluefield Ranch Preserve

An active cattle ranch for many years, the 3,285-acre site  preserves the largest stand of scrub in St. Lucie County.  Located off State Road 70 at Bluefield Road, there are more than 20 miles of hiking, mountain bike and horse trails,  an elevated wildlife observation deck, wildlife blind, primitive hike-in camping and primitive horseback camping.

Cady Way Trail

Traversing Baldwin Park, a community with architecture reminiscent of pre-1940s Central Florida, this multi-use urban trail runs from the Fashion Square Mall in Orlando to Cady Way Park in Winter Park, joining a long list of outstanding Florida walking, hiking and biking trails. The trail also passes the spectacular homes of Winter Park and a pastoral golf course. An oak-tree canopy provides shade on portions of the trail.

Fisheating Creek Wildlife Management Area Trails

During high to average summer water levels, the best place to hike is off SR 78 south of Lakeport. From this point, you can hike to Fort Center. Archeologist William Sears's book Fort Center provides a wealth of information about the area. In the winter, go west of Fort Center on the same access path to Cowbone Marsh, where you can observe wintering wading birds. It is best to hike through the cypress swamps, small hardwood hammocks, and open prairies west of US 27 January through May.

Indrio Savannahs Preserve

Purchased to protect the savannahs wetland system, this site features three miles of trails that cover the 297-acre site and two observation platforms.  The site has a large 35-acre lake that is designated as a “catch-and-release” area and contains a kayak/canoe  launch.  Part of the statewide "Great Florida Birding Trail," the site provides excellent opportunities for wildlife watching.

Juniper Creek Paddling Trail

Paddle this historic stream beginning at Red Rock Road Bridge, believed to be the location where Andrew Jackson and his forces crossed the river during the First Seminole War. Juniper Creek has gentle curves, some small bluffs, and gold-tinted waters. Look for the white blossoms of mountain laurel lining the shore during spring. Due to its scenic qualities, Juniper Creek is a designated Florida paddling trail.

Munson Hills/Twilight Trails

Spacious longleaf pine forests intermixed with ponds and wetlands greet riders along this single track trail through the Apalachicola National Forest help to make this trail scenic, challenging and fun. The Munson Hills Trail has been topped with a clay hard-pack in places to prevent loose sand from inhibiting your ride and to create tighter turns and jumps. Look for banded longleaf pines marking where cavities have been created by the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker.
