Hi Rick,

You should take a ride on the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail. Key Largo in the Northern Keys is the longest section of the bike path, beginning at MM 106 and connecting into the Village of Islamorada at MM 82. Here’s the state park link to info about it; here’s a link Florida Bicycle Association information about the ride (scroll down to the part about the Heritage Trail – it’s good stuff). Okay, it’s not mountain biking, but it’s really pretty. Here’s a link to other bike trails in the area; some are off-road, some are not. Key Largo Bikes @ 305-451-1910 sells mountain bikes so they might be able to give you some first hand advice on what the coolest trails are.

I have a blog coming out about my trip to Islamorada in a few days; be sure to check it out. While you’re there I’d suggest you go snorkeling and make sure you go to Bahia Honda State Park.

Happy pedaling!

Lauren
