Encompassing the southern sea towns of Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, Florida's Emerald Coast provides the perfect backdrop for family fun with 24 miles of sugar-white sands and sparkling emerald-green waters. With more than 300 festivals and special events annually, from the Billy Bowlegs Festival and Destin Fishing Rodeo to the Emerald Coast Boat Week and Destin Seafood Festival, a good time is always close at hand. Destin's claim to fame as "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village" is no idle boast with nine world records and Florida's largest charter boat fleet. Destin, Fort Walton and Okaloosa Island accommodations offer priceless vacations without the price. More than 14,000 Gulf-edged rooms are available including popular hotels, spacious condominiums, a bed and breakfast inn, beach cottages and five-bedroom bungalows. Read Less

Property Response

Gina, I am sorry the reservationist at Holiday Inn Resort on Okaloosa Island did not offer you the listed special. I spoke with the management and they said it should have been honored and the special is still valid through October. You can call the Sales Office directly at 800-526-6427 and Angie or Ivana would be happy to help you with your reservation. Thank you for visiting the Emerald Coast!

Why doesn't Florida recycle?? we enjoyed a wonderful week in Miramar Beach, Destin last week, but were unable to recycle anything! No recycling location in building, or locality that we could find and were ashamed to be adding to land fill our bottles, bags cardboard, paper etc... What a shame for such a important area of conservation. Anyone have any knowledge of where recycling may occur in this vicinity, or who to contact to discuss further? Thank you.

How would I find a nice spa where husband and I could get a massage. Also are there any places in Fort Walton that rent bicycles?
