Fantasy of Flight’s Legends & Legacies Symposium Series continues with "They Dared to Fly" in honor of Black History month. Join several of the original Tuskegee Airmen as they share their personal experiences of wartime military service during segregated America. This event features open-forum/question-and-answer sessions. Fantasy of Flight's permanent multi-media Tuskegee Airmen exhibit and vintage aircraft collection, including the P-51C Mustang, provides the perfect backdrop for this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet these brave men. From the bravery of the WASP, the first females to fly military aircraft, to the strength and motivation that was symbolized by the non-traditional roles of "Rosie the Riveter", the women of WWII made an impact on our world and gave hope for new generation of “barrier-breaking women” to continue challenging to status quo. Join us as we feature extraordinary people including original WASP and history makers of today.

For years visitors to Fantasy of Flight, Central Florida’s premier aviation attraction, believed the only specters of the past they’d encounter would be the collection of 40 fully-restored vintage aircraft, displays of a long-ago era of aviation. But as stories of unexplained occurrences such as unidentifiable noises, temperature changes and the detection of mists and shadows drifted into the paranormal community, professional investigators (or “ghost hunters” to which they are more dramatically referred in popular media) took notice. Apollo Paranormal Investigations (API), a non-profit investigative team based in Apollo, Florida, has conducted a series of scientific explorations and on a paranormal-activity scale between 1 and 10, they have rated Fantasy of Flight’s aircraft collection an “11.” Based on their results, Fantasy of Flight has invited the general public to nightFlight, an exciting after-hours program that offers adventurous visitors four full hours to “Explore the Unexplained.”

The weekend presents a unique and unforgettable opportunity for Scouts to earn their aviation merit badges amidst one of the world’s most impressive private aircraft collections, including 40 rare and vintage aircraft, many of which have been restored to flying condition.

Who needs a runway? Fantasy of Flight is thrilled to be hosting the Splash-In on sparkling Lake Agnes on Thursday, March 29th as part of the 38th Annual Sun 'n Fun Fly-In. Visitors will witness a variety of seaplanes and amphibious aircraft perform water landings and takeoffs as part of the competition. Fantasy of Flight and the Imperial Mustang Club of Polk County team up for this 15th annual event, the only Mustang event in Florida that features both beautifully restored P-51 Mustang war birds from World War II and Ford and Mustang automobiles. Fantasy of Flight’s P-51D and P-51C Mustangs are a dramatic backdrop for hundreds of classic and modern Fords and Mustangs.
