Don't waste your money! It's a deep down kind of dirty.‎ - sheri.h‎ - Today My reservations were for 4 nights booked through the hotel with them “giving” me 10% off for whatever random discount we had. We spoke to the reservation women and they were so nice and talked this hotel up in a big way and the photos and video was presented great. The excitement brewed in us. Upon arrival, this small hotel seemed “dated” but really how bad could it be? After parking in one of the smallest parking lots I’ve been in, we carried our luggage and such to our room. Something didn’t seem right. We had to walk through standing water where I’m sure a beautiful court yard used to be and a random washer and dryer. There were dead cockroaches that weren’t swept away and every post of this small outside hallway had rust that had to have been years old (note* cockroaches are not uncommon in Florida). Upon entering our room, we could see right away that this was not the fault of housekeeping but a deep seeded need for a good deep cleaning or better yet, remodeling. The carpet, once bright, thick tropical shades are now just a jumble of dark, over stretched stain. More of this “look” carried through out the room to the bed spreads and curtains. The bath room plumbing was sad. with an old outside light and signs that you would see at a gas station rest room. There are old, pealing paint covering alot of things including the rusty, leaky, exposed pipes. Even the folding luggage rack was an old, rusty mess. The kitchen was the same although the eatery and drinking glasses were dirty and mismatched. The odd smell could have been wiped away if we could have left the windows open, but since the screen wasn’t tight, we were uneasy with the bugs. The “patio” was lawn chairs on a small brick square that had to lean against the rusty air conditioner of our neighbor and the only privacy was a jutting sea grape tree that also blocked the little view of the ocean that we did have. To access this area was easy but the door could not be locked or unlocked with the key that was provided and had to be either monitored or closed and locked at all time. We contacted the front desk and were told that we can leave and go somewhere else but would leave a message for management. Our vacation was cut short when we checked out early the next day. The stains on the mattresses were too much for us. We never heard back from management until an email was sent and they called us back. No apology for being dissatisfied. Management was a man saying rude things and speaking in the most disrespectful voice. We will try to post pictures. Do yourself a favor and don’t bring your family here. Don’t come here for romance. Just come to sit in a chair to see the sunset. It’s the only up side of this extremely disappointed vacationer.
