Experience the rich heritage and diverse culture of the Tampa Bay area. The Tampa Bay History Center in downtown Tampa, features exhibits depicting 500 years of recorded history and 12,000 years of human habitation in this region. Original artifacts and rare photos enhance a storyline that creates a window to the past. American Indians and Spanish conquistadors, pioneer settlers and cigar workers, immigrants and cowboys, military and sports heroes and entrepreneurs are among the many stories told. Exhibitions encompass current technology, hands-on learning and educational objects from the museum's collection of county and state-themed artifacts.

Vistors can stroll through a 1920s cigar store. Row up the Hillsborough River. Ride along with a cattle drive. Explore early Florida in a dramatic theater presentation. This waterfront building, with an eclectic Museum Store and the signature Columbia Café, is a memorable experience for all to enjoy. Read Less
