The Mexico Beach CDC, Inc. will sponsor the 12th Annual Mexico Beach Photography Contest. Submissions can be sent to the CDC, April 1st through July 30th.
Criteria: Photographs must be taken within the City Limits of Mexico Beach, FL. Photos may be either Black & White or Color. May be shot with a digital camera, but cannot be digitally enhanced.
Each photographer is limited to entering 6 pictures per category; and, each submission must be accompanied by a separate application and entry fee. Submissions must be received at the Mexico Beach Visitor Information Center by 4:00 PM CT on July 25th, 2011. Submissions may be mailed in to: Mexico Beach Photography Contest; P.O. Best Blast on the Beach will begin with the annual Sandy Shoe 5K Race/Walk at Under the Palms Park off 7th Street in Mexico Beach. From Children to Adults, this race will jump start the day, and awards are given out. Please check back with us at a later date for registration information and forms. Registration on the day of the race will be from 6am to 6:45am. Race will be from 7am to 8:30am.
Next it's onto our annual Kid's Fishing Tournament. With NO entry fee, children of all ages line up along the sea wall at Canal Park and try to reel in the big ones! Prizes, food and drinks are given out to all participating children and their family members! Fishing tournament is from 9:30am to 11am.
Finally, it's time to kick back and enjoy the "Best Blast on the Beach" Firework Show! Starting at dark our grand firework show will be shot from the City Pier and can be viewed anywhere along our beautiful beach. So, grab the lawn chairs, blankets and coolers and hit the beach to enjoy this great show and say "Happy Birthday America".

The most wonderful tournament in the Florida Panhandle! Since its incorporation in 1997 the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association (MBARA) has had as parts of it mission the task of educating the public on the values of sustainable artificial reef fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico. Beginning in 1995 the MBARA hosted the Kingfish Tournament to raise awareness and monies towards the Reef industry. This annual tournament has grown with over 200 boats entering last year. This is a great weekend to be in Mexico Beach and families love watching the boat bring in the big trophy! Every Thursday at Sunset Park (located next to the El Governor Motel) there will be talented performers playing for your enjoyment. Singing songs that we all know and love and letting us in on some of their own original creations.
Music in the Park starts at 6pm and lasts until 8pm. Parking is available at the El Governor or across Hwy 98. So, come early, grab your spot and relax as you enjoy the rhythms of the music!

Start in the Eastern Time Zone in Port St. Joe and St. Joe Beach, then travel west just five minutes to Mexico Beach and celebrate all over again an hour later in the Central Time Zone.
The trolley service will be carrying passengers to local hot spots and everywhere in between. The trolley rides are FREE to all riders but we do ask for tips for the drivers. ( After 10pm all riders must be 21 or older to ride).
