Asolo Rep is not simply a theatre; it is a theatre district with a truly staggering range of shows which promises something for everyone. The 2011-2012 season is filled with ambitious productions, exciting new works and talented performers; offering a rich, varied theatrical experience to everyone. From mid-November - mid-July, the acclaimed professional Asolo Repertory Theatre presents a unique array of rotating live performances ranging from classics to recent Broadway hits and World Premieres. Performances are presented in the 500 seat Mertz Theatre, a beautifully restored 1903 opera house from Dunfermline, Scotland and the intimate Cook Theatre, both located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. Featuring award-winning actors from both their own repertory company and from renowned theaters around the country, including Broadway and off-Broadway, plays are presented with their own world-class scenic and costume designs. Choose afternoon or evening performances, many with special before- or after-performance attractions and attend as many as four different plays in a single weekend. No matter what performances you choose to attend, the Asolo Rep will entertain, engage and inspire you. Read Less
