Mainsail Inn and Suites

It is a shame on the condition of this hotel. I stayed at the main sail in 2008 and 2009 and it wasn't in such despair at the time. I revisited in March 2010 and this hotel was a mess! I was very disappointed! I stayed on the third floor corner balcony room. I almost vomited because of the stench in the hallways that lead to the upper level rooms. The hallways were dirty with hand prints, holes, paint falling off the walls, to vaccuming and garbage that hadn't been picked up by housekeeping. My room 321 had a constant sewer smell. The garbage can lid and wall was dirty with old food caked on it. There were no towels or wash cloths. I had to go retrieve them from the front desk later that night. The Balcony door, lets just say you had to put some muscle into opening the door just to go out onto the balcony. Once outside the balcony chairs had some sort of brown substance on them. The so called "heated pool," was dirty and the few beach chairs that were around were scattered. No one maintained the pool area! I tried to complain to the Manager about the awful stench in my room and hallway but he was not available until the next day. Manager was very accommodating, he obviously knows this hotel is a dump. I was comped for my initial stay to return. However, I never did receive any follow up (email stating my comp) from the Manager on my future accommodations. Did he just verbally acknowledge my dissatisfaction to get rid of me?? This is probrably why this hotel is in such a mess especially when the Management cannot maintain professionalism and satisfy the patrons that visit this hotel.
