Summer day camps are sponsored by the Florida Air Museum and held at the Tom Davis Education Center. Summer camps are a learning experience with activities designed to capture the imagination of children and interest them in aerospace science. Though science is our focus, we do not neglect the art, history, or poetry of flight. Activities are scheduled both inside our climate controlled classrooms and outside, utilizing the resources of our spacious campus as a learning lab. We take the safety and well being of our campers very seriously. We pledge to keep parents/guardians informed of issues brought to our attention and request parents/guardians to do the same. If behavior compromises the safety or well being of any camper, we may request the immediate removal of the offending person(s).
We instill values of the Aviators Creed: "I will treat this earth and sky as I would others - With respect and dignity."

My son loves planes and helicopters, swords and bugs...he is a boy after all. I was very happy to fulfill one of his many interests while we were visiting Plant City in Orlando; the museum is located in Lakeland (not very far from our Hotel). We weren’t sure what to expect, since there is very little information or places of interest close by listed online. As we pulled in to our hotel we saw a sign “Fun and Sun Air Museum†I thought, why not. ….I was not disappointed neither was my son or my daughter (who at first was reluctant to go). My son was excited to see airplanes, but got even more ecstatic as we approached the building and saw a WWII airplane near the parking lot…we stopped there for a while…lots of pictures…did I mention he loves planes. The price is more than reasonable. The museum itself is just a plain air conditioned building. A nice volunteer greets you at the door and gives you some good pointers. He also mentioned to my son that there was another building adjacent to the main building (not very close, you are better off driving) which housed old WWII fighter jets and some new planes. …he couldn’t wait and he wasn’t disappointed. My son and daughter had a blast. They read every sign and learned new things. They had hands on experience with the flight simulator (small plane they get to sit on and play with the handles). There is even a small presentation about “SPACE†another one of my sons interests. What else can a dad ask for? Fun and Educational!!! We had a great time. Worth our money and time! My kids can’t wait to visit again!
