Mission: To help visitors have better vacations with current, relevant information about area attractions, activities and accommodations in Southwest Florida. To provide a place for tourism organizations, associations and businesses to reach the traveling public 'en route.
Description:  The newly renovated Southwest Florida Visitor Center reopened November 15, 2010 at Jones Loop Road, just off Interstate 75 Exit 161 in Punta Gorda, Florida.The Visitor Center features four DOT signs on I-75 and two on US-41, an 80-foot wide billboard on I-75 and other directional signage around the interchange area that also includes a State of Florida Rest Area. It's a popular stop for the traveling public at the gateway to Southwest Florida.
The strategically located facility is supported by Convention & Visitor Bureaus in Charlotte, Lee, Collier and Sarasota Counties, as well as the Florida State Park Service, County Parks & Recreation Departments in Lee, Collier and Charlotte and a growing list of more than 75 attractions, activities and accommodations throughout Southwest Florida.
Products Offered:  Literature distribution, display signage and direct in-person referrals at the Visitor Center. Future products include video loop content, direct computer access, more interactive displays and satellite info centers at other high-traffic locations.Soon to be released Mobile Website promoted directly at the center and to people traveling throughout Southwest Florida, via Microsoft Tags and a simple url at hundreds of tourism hot spots from Sarasota to Everglades City.
Charlotte Harbor Guide & Map, the Official Map of the Southwest Florida Visitor Center. Annual distribution of 250,000 copies that deliver well over a half-million visitors to the greater Charlotte Harbor area. Published two times a year, in Jan and July, the publication has served Charlotte County since 1995.
