I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

St. Francis Hiking Trailhead Credit: Kevin Mims
I love a good road trip! This week I am out and about exploring a bunch of hiking trails in Central Florida. Starting off early this morning, I headed for the St. Francis Trail near DeLand, which was a rugged, somewhat muddy and wet eight miles along the St. Johns River. For some folks, that may be a horrible way to spend the day, but for me it was terrific! I'll go into more detail and share some video when I get back next week.
Tomorrow I'm off to hike at Split Oak Forest Mitigation Park in Narcoossee, and I'll be hitting some spots in Titusville and Melbourne later in the coming days, too. I'm sure there will be some unplanned side trips along the way. I'll make sure to share those as well.
While I'm out playing in the woods, you can see what I'm up to by following me on Twitter. Talk to you soon!
