I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.
The #moon tonight is incredible! Go outside and have a look, or I've got a video here: http://t.co/s7aigLVb

Well, one big holiday down, one more to go! Hope everyone is getting outside and managing to work off those extra calories from Thanksgiving. My belt hates me right now.
I did manage to get over to Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park in Homosassa over the Thanksgiving break, and it didn't look like I was the only one. The park was packed! Guess what? Now that we are starting to feel some colder weather, the manatees are hanging around the springs more and more.
It was a little overcast the day I went, which made visibility really good. You could really see down into the spring. Here's some video of three manatees and a bunch of fish jumping out of the water. Cool stuff!
